On Monday, August 19th, we had the opportunity to volunteer at Three Sisters Garden’s West Sacramento farm.

We met founder Alfred Melbourne (pictured above) and explored the organization’s history, mission, and the range of programs they offer, including community building, urban farming, and gardening education. The KLC team participated in harvesting vegetables, weeding, and gaining insights into how the community can advocate for managing their own food systems. It was a rewarding experience, and we greatly valued the chance to contribute and the warm hospitality from their entire team.
